Trainee Vehicle Damage Assessor

£30,000 Basic Salary – Upto £36,000 p/annum OTE subject to qualifications.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced and qualified VDA to develop their skills and knowledge of assessing vehicle damage, estimating repairs using Audatex, and ensuring a smooth and efficient repair journey for our customers.
This role would suit someone with at least 1 year of hands-on experience using Audatex who is eager to progress in their career and learn from an experienced team. The ability to step into a Customer Service Advisor role if required is essential.
MAIN TASKS
- Support the VDA team in assessing vehicle damage accurately and efficiently.
- Use Audatex software to assist in preparing accurate repair estimates.
- Liaise with technicians, parts departments, and insurance engineers.
- Communicate effectively with customers to keep them informed about repair progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and photographic evidence of vehicle condition.
- Provide cover for the Customer Service Advisor role when needed (e.g. handling customer queries, booking vehicles in and out, updating systems).
About You:
- Minimum 1 year of experience using Audatex in a bodyshop or accident repair environment.
- Basic understanding of vehicle repair methods and accident damage.
- Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to learn and progress within the business.
- Team player with a flexible and proactive approach.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a bodyshop or accident repair centre.
- Experience dealing with insurance companies and engineers.
- Knowledge of motor industry standards and compliance.
OTHER DUTIES
Due to the size and complexity of the establishment, you will undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties that are deemed to be within your capability, as directed by a senior manager of the group with whom you have a reporting relationship.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
Up to £36,000 OTE – includes site bonus and is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Hours are 8am – 5pm Monday – Friday, 30-minute lunch break.
